Track and Field Well Represented at AIA State Championships

The Brophy track and field program will be represented by five student-athletes in five events and both the 4x100m and 4x400m relays at this weekend’s AIA State Championships at Mesa Community College. Tickets are available on GoFan.co.

Senior Brennen McHenry, the two-time Division I long jump champion, will compete in both the long jump and high jump events on Friday. He has the top performance in the state in both events. He is also the anchor on the 4x100-meter relay that ran the second-fastest time in school history last week at the Division meet. The prelims are set for 6:45 p.m..

Junior Luca Cannizzo runs in the 400-meter prelims at 7:20 p.m. on Friday with the 4x400m Relay taking the track at 9:20 p.m.

On Saturday, sophomore Darius Alberty will compete in the javelin at 3:30 p.m., while senior Zach Loiselle will run in the 1600-meter final at 6:40 p.m. Finals for the 400 meters and both relays are also scheduled based on Friday’s results.
