Lacrosse Splits California Trip

The Brophy lacrosse program split two games in California, losing to Mater Dei on Friday 13-5 and defeating Foothill on Saturday 9-8.

Swenson scored his second goal with 7:56 left to build a 9-5 lead and the Broncos withstood a late rally. Ryan Peitzmeier had 10 saves for the game. Three players had two goals for the Broncos, including Ethan Swenson, Erik Volfson and Drew Neff.

On Friday, Brophy fell behind at the half 8-3 and never closed the gap. Thomas Haak and Laird Miller tallied a pair of goals for the Broncos.

Brophy hosts Notre Dame Prep on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The Varsity 2 team lost to Foothill 9-5 as Kaden MacKenzie had two goals and five ground balls and defeated Mater Dei 8-4 as Patrick Fischer had three goals.
