The Broncos advanced to the AIA 6A State semifinals before losing to eventual state champion Sandra Day O’Connor. The No. 4 overall seed in the 6A State Championship, the Broncos defeated Shadow Ridge (3-0) and Desert Vista (3-0) before falling to O’Connor (3-1). They were the only school to take a set off O'Connor in the playoffs.
The Broncos finished ranked No. 4 by Maxpreps in Arizona and No. 42 overall in the nation. They recorded a 36-10 overall record and 7-1 mark in Premier Region play to tie for first place overall.
Senior Andrew Werner was named the Premier Region Player of the Year and was a 6A All-Conference first-team selection. He ranked fifth in the state in kills with 409 and seventh in hitting percentage at .428. He recorded his 1,000th career kill during the season. He will play at Princeton in the fall.
Junior Patrick Oldani was named the Premier Region Defensive Player of the Year. He ranked second in the state and seventh in the nation in assists with 963. He was second on the team in blocks (56) and digs (163) while averaging 8.1 assists per set.
Head Coach Tony Oldani was named the Premier Region Coach of the Year.
Nick Demaerschalk ‘22 was named to the All-Premier first team, while Terry Churchill ‘23 and Ben McDonald ‘22 were second-team selections.
Dylan Boyle ‘23 and Ryan Holmes ‘22 were honorable mention selections.
The Broncos went 7-1 and finished runner-up at the Vegas Easter Classic. They lost in the championship to O’Connor 25-21, 25-16. The team also finished second to O’Connor at the Brophy Invitational with Werner and Oldani earning all-tournament honors.
