Senior Dylan Boenning shot a four-under-par 68 to lead the Brophy golf team to the top spot in the team standings at three-under-par in the Brophy Rodeo National High School Invitational presented by PING.
The Broncos hold a five-stroke lead over Notre Dame Prep (+2) and eight strokes over Catalina Foothills (+5).
Boenning is second overall behind first-round leader Cameron Baez of Windermere (-5). Baez recorded a bogey-free 67 highlighted by a back nine 32. Sophomore Evan Tyree shot a three-under-par 69 to tie for third after 18 holes. Sophomore Asher Nelson was eighth after a one-under-par 71. Adone Panattoni carded a 77, and Mathew Polacheck posted an 82.
Brophy tees off on the first tee on Saturday starting at 8:39 a.m. on the Grayhawk Raptor course.
Xavier leads the girl's tournament by two strokes over Casteel and six strokes over Granite Bay heading into the final round. Bishop Gorman’s Samantha Harris and Xavier’s Alexis Lamadrid are tied for the lead at three-under-par. Eight players are within three strokes.
