The 2022 Brophy College Preparatory swimming and diving team was recognized with nine All-Premier Region honors including four first-team honors.
Senior Gabriel Gonda and sophomore Caden Oprandy both earned two individual and two relay honors. Gonda was a first-team choice in the 100 backstroke (third at the state meet in 51.03) and the second team in the 100 butterfly (2nd/49.87), while Oprandy was first-team in the 100 breaststroke (4th/58.15) and second-team in the 200 individual medley 99th/1:56.95).
Gonda led off the 200 medley relay with freshman Mark Heffern, junior Theodore Neilson and senior Rodrigo Carvajal, earning first-team honors, while Carvajal, Oprandy, senior Finnegan Crawford and Gonda were the all-region first-team honorees in the 200 freestyle relay.
Four Broncos were named all-region second team including Crawford in the 200 freestyle (6th/1:41.58), Oprandy in the 200 individual medley (9th/1:56.95), Gonda in the 100 butterfly 92nd/49.87) and Nielson in the 100 breaststroke (5th/48.20).
The 400 freestyle relay was also named to the all-region second team with a foursome of Oprandy, Crawford, Heffern and Asher Gomez.
Brophy College Preparatory is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Alumni Awards, which will be presented during the Father–Son Communion Breakfast on Saturday, Nov. 22.
