Basketball Advances to Father Barry Classic Championship
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Five players scored in doubles figures as the Brophy basketball team posted a 78-62 win over Jesuit Portland in the semifinals of the 50th Annual Father Barry Classic at Jesuit Sacramento.
Junior Daylen Sharper scored 13 points, including 12 in the first half when the Broncos built a 41-28 lead. Luke Wieskamp, who led the team with 17 in the opener, had 11 in the first half. Senior Ayden Madi added 11, while senior Ryan Burbach and junior Rocket Schwertley had 10.
Brophy advances to the Father Barry Classic for the second year in a row and fourth time in the last four years. They won the tournament title twice, in 2017 and 2021. They were runner-ups in 2019 and 2023 and consolation champions in 2016.
