  • > Summer School

If your son plans to take any summer course(s) at Brophy, please have him confirm his course(s) by going to the Progress tab in myBrophy, toggling to next year (eg, if he is currently in 10th grade, toggle the tab to 11th grade), and looking at what summer course(s) are there. If they are the correct courses, then there is no action necessary. If it’s not what he wants or what he thinks should be there, he should email Mr. Walsh at swalsh@brophyprep.org immediately to inquire about it.

It’s important that the summer school courses are listed correctly, as we have begun putting summer school charges on family accounts. Once charges are billed, there is a $50 nonrefundable fee if a student cancels his enrollment. There are no refunds for courses dropped after May 16.

  • > The Election of Pope Leo XIV

Habemus Papam! On May 8, the College of Cardinals selected Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, the first American to become Pope. He has taken the name Pope Leo XIV.

The election of a new Pope is an important event in the Catholic Church — it represents centuries of tradition being carried forward and, more importantly, the wisdom of the Holy Spirit guiding the Church through Cardinals from around the world. It is a time for celebration and hope.

All of us at Brophy felt a deep connection with Pope Francis, the first Jesuit Pope. Now, we pray for his successor Pope Leo XIV to continue to lead the Church with love and compassion.

    • Consider taking the Summer College Application Class taught by our very own Brophy college counselors. Enroll through the Summer School tab on the BCP website. If you are interested in signing up, please email Mr. Walsh at swalsh@brophyprep.org.

All components of the college application process will be reviewed, including myth-busting, understanding testing and interview requirements, deadlines, scholarships and financial aid. Students will be shown how to maximize resources to develop a smart college list. In-state university applications will be previewed, and each component of the Common Application will be introduced. By the end of the workshop, students will have a college list that makes sense, a completed body of the main Common Application, and a solid working essay, all under the guidance of a college counselor. Visits to one or more in-state universities and honors colleges are likely.
    • Summer is a great time for you to get a jump start on college application tasks; college searching (add to “considering” in Maia) and/or begin your Common Application and Essay. The more you do now, the less you have to work on later!

  • > Summer Reading Assignment

Incoming students in the Class of 2029 are expected to read the novel assigned for English 1 or Honors English 1. In addition to the reading, students are required to respond in short-answer format to a set of study questions specific to that book; those responses should be typed and will be collected for credit. You should not use AI tools, including ChatGPT, to create original content. Teachers will integrate the summer reading and responses to study questions into the beginning of the course, so students should bring their book and responses to the first day of class in August. Furthermore, students should expect some form of assessment on the book — either a test or essay — during the first week of class.

  • > Important information regarding student billing

For the 2025-2026 School Year: We are using Veracross for all student billing. The Billing portal in Veracross is now live. Tuition payments for 2025-26 and going forward will be processed by Veracross Tuition Management Co.

For the Remainder of the 2024-2025 School Year (including Summer School, except for Incoming Freshmen): We will continue to use the FACTS system for all student billing matters. Once 2024-25 accounts are fully closed out, you will not make payments through FACTS, and will transition over to Veracross. Parents of students in Classes 2026, 2027 and 2028 - please make sure to check both your FACTS and your Veracross accounts to ensure that you are current. Parents of students in Class of 2025 - please make sure to check your FACTS account to ensure that all tuition and fees have been paid. If a family has outstanding balances the student will not be allowed to sit for finals.

PLEASE NOTE: Your son will be considered registered for the 2025-26 school year once the Business Office has been notified that his registration is complete, the deposit of $500 has been paid and your VCPay accounts have been set up correctly for all payers on your son’s account.
  • > Summer School

Summer School charges have been posted. Class of 2029 - your Summer School charges have been posted to your VeraCross account. All other classes, your charges will be posted to your FACTS account.
  • > Financial Aid Applications

Applications for financial aid will continue to be administered through FACTS. You will find the FACTS financial aid application by logging into your FACTS account. The application will be on the right-hand side under FACTS Grant & Aid. April 15, 2025 was the deadline for submitting financial aid applications with no fees. Late applications will continue to be accepted; however FACTS will assess a $35.00 application fee after April 15, 2025. Award decisions will be communicated as applications are completed and verified; award decisions cannot be made without submission of your 2024 tax return. The sooner the application is completed and verified, the sooner families will receive their award decisions.
  • > ESA Program

Information for the ESA Program can be found here. Please be advised, for any tuition payment that was made between Tuesday, July 1 and Friday, Sept. 12, 2024, ESA funds must be sent directly to Brophy using the Direct Pay option. Please note that families must choose to participate in either the ESA program or the STO Program each school year. For questions please contact Abby Kerkhove at akerkhove@brophyprep.org.
