Golf Wins Wolverines vs. the World Invitational in Orlando

The Brophy golf team won the Wolverines vs. the World Invitational in Orlando on Saturday with a dominant 15-under-par 546 to beat Ponte Vedra (569) and First Academy (574) by nine strokes. Co-champions Evan Tyree and Jack Langbein led the Broncos at 134.

Tyree shot 65-69 with 12 birdies, while Langbein posted 66-68 with a bogey-free tournament and nine birdies, tying his teammate for medalist honors. Junior Hank Miller was third overall (72-66) at 138. Senior Asher Nelson was seventh at 140 (70-70). Luke Staples (74-76) and Carlos Sugich (76-74) tied for 40th overall (74-76). 

It is the Broncos' second tournament win (Papago Invitational) and avenges a loss to First Academy at the Brophy Rodeo. The 273 posted in both rounds tied the team's season low.
