Football Drops Season Opener to Hamilton

Brophy lost to Maxpreps No. 17 Hamilton 25-6 in the season opener for both teams on Aug. 27 at Central High School. Junior receiver Julian Ferrari scored his first career touchdown in the contest from junior Noah Stewart. 

Hamilton opened the game with a field goal in the first quarter and added 96=5-yard kick return off a blocked field goal to end the half for a 10-0 lead. The Huskies extended their lead with 15 points in the third via a touchdown run, a 54-yard interception return, and a field goal. 

Brophy found the end zone with 6:430 left in the game when Stewart found Ferrari for the first points of the season. 

Senior Donovan McNabb led the offense with a career seven receptions for 36 yards, while Scout Kinkel had 55 rushing yards on eight carries. Senior captain Braxton Tate had seven tackles.

Brophy travels to Boulder Creek on Friday. The Jaguars lost to Highland 31-7 in their opener.
