Esports, sanctioned by the Arizona Interscholastic Association, was added to the sports offerings at Brophy and other high schools around the state beginning with the 2019-20 school year. Brophy participates in the AIA Rocket League and League of Legends tournaments, which run during the spring season. The competition culminates in an AIA state championship tournament for each game. Brophy has won the AIA championship titles for League of Legends in ’19, ’20 and ’21 and Rocket League in ’19, ’20, '21 and '22.

Brophy also participates in the PlayVS Youth Program. PlayVS runs tournaments throughout the year for various games. These tournaments culminate in regional and national championships. Brophy fields an Overwatch team that competes in these PlayVS tournaments. Brophy's Overwatch team won the fall Mountain Regional championship title in '20, the spring Pacific Regional championship title in '21 and '22, and the PlayVS National Championship in '22.

Starting with the 2022-23 school year, Brophy added a Valorant to the selection of esports team offerings. Brophy's Valorant team will compete in the High School Esports League's Spring Majors tournament. The HSEL competition culminates in regional and national titles.

Brophy's esports lab is in the Innovation Commons. This state-of-the-art lab is home to all of Brophy’s esports teams and hosts open lab hours for all students.
