Brophy Challenges Crespi in Road Loss

The Brophy basketball team challenged a tough Crespi Carmelite team on the road leading in the fourth quarter before dropping a 65-58 decision in Encino, Calif.. Sophomore Daylen Sharper led the team with 20 points, while junior Ryan Burbach added 17 points. The Broncos drop to 6-3.
Daylen Sharper hit a three-pointer with 4:53 left for a 51-47 lead in the fourth quarter. The Celts closed the game on an 18-7 run over the final five minutes.  They went 6-for-6 at the line in the final minute to seal the game.
Senior Luke Rehl contributed 12 points in the loss.
The Celts (14-1) are coached by former NBA player Derek Fisher. 
Brophy hosts Sunnyslope on Friday at 7 p.m. at Robson Gymnasium.
