Class of 2025 Moms: Spring Social – Tuesday, March 26, 7-9 p.m., Location in Punchbowl Invitation

Come celebrate the “almost” end to our boys' junior year. Let’s spend some time getting to know one another better and share our excitement as we prepare to be senior moms in a few short months! We will also be collecting items to help stock the Brophy Clothing Exchange. Please see the Punchbowl invitation for more details and to RSVP. We hope you can join us! If you have any questions for the Class of 2025 committee, please contact Rachana Patel at Rachana_p@me.com.

Book Club – Monday, April 8, 6-8 p.m., The Herb Box, 7000 E. Shea Blvd., Scottsdale, Arizona 85254

You are invited to our last book club meeting of the year. We will discuss “Horse” by the Pulitzer Prize winning Australian author, Geraldine Brooks. “Horse” is based on the remarkable true story of a record-breaking thoroughbred named Lexington and is a novel of art and science, love and obsession, and America's unfinished reckoning with racism. Please join us as we discuss this sweeping story of obsession and injustice! We will meet at The Herb Box for dinner and drinks from 6-7 p.m. and the book discussion will follow at 7-8 p.m. to facilitate a less distracting conversation. If you would like to be included in our mailing list for the monthly invitation, email us at brophymgbookclub@gmail.com.

Hiking Club – Tuesday, April 9, 8:45 a.m., Lost Dog Wash Trail

Meet us on Tuesday, April 9, for our last hike of the school year at Lost Dog Wash Trail (12601 N. 124th Street, Scottsdale, Arizona). We’ll meet at 8:45 a.m. near the restrooms and begin the 4.2-mile hike at 9 a.m. Lunch TBD. Please contact Dana Bates (dbatesaz@aol.com) or Shalegh Silkey (shalegh.silkey@yahoo.com) with any questions.

Corral Volunteers – Spring 2024
The Mothers’ Guild thanks all of our moms who have made a difference in the Brophy Corral, helping our sons enjoy a tasty lunch each day. There are only a few more weeks left in the school year, so if you haven’t had a chance to lend a hand in the Corral and get a peek at your Bronco at lunch, now is the time! Please view the available slots and sign up here. Family members are also welcome to volunteer. We appreciate your help!

A Heartfelt Thank You Goes to …

  • Our class of 2027 committee chairs: Kim Baldwin, Dana Bates, Anne Brislin, Melissa Dillingham and Georgie Hanlin for planning a fabulous freshman mom social on March 7. It was so nice for our freshman moms to gather and connect again as we approach the end of their sons’ freshman year. An extra special thank you to Emily Craiger for warmly opening her beautiful home to host the freshman moms.
  • Our awesome faculty and staff appreciation committee: Laura Castle, Rachel Douglas, Melissa Fees, Amy Haugland, Stephanie Jauregui Hidalgo, and Debbie Shafron for assembling over 180 goody bags to thank our wonderful faculty and staff during parent-teacher conference week. In addition, a big thank you to all of the Brophy families who donated items for the goody bags!
  • Joffa Applegate, Maria Geyer, Lorna Honan, Dee Person, Tina Slankas, Jane Trapp and Jody Trickle for helping with set up and greeting and seating guests for the Grandparents’ Breakfast on March 14. It was a beautiful morning for our Broncos to spend with their special guests.
  • Our rockstar retreat committee chairs Alisha Baer, Angela Lechter and Christy Wright for all of their time and effort in planning an amazing two-day retreat for the lucky moms who had the privilege of attending. It was a truly meaningful weekend of friendship, connection and community.
  • President Bob Ryan, Drew Rau from the OFJ, sophomore Sebastian Cevallos from the Brophy Kino Teens club and the club’s faculty sponsor, Jose Leyba, for speaking to the Mothers’ Guild at our BROPHY Talks event on March 14. In addition, there is SO much gratitude to all the moms helping migrant moms, by donating craft supplies to support the Livelihood Project of the Kino Border Initiative. Our wonderful moms donated four beading kits, 24 pieces of embroidery fabric, 230 embroidery needles and over 3,000 skeins of embroidery floss!
  • The amazing moms who volunteer in the Corral at lunchtime. It’s fast-paced and hard work getting all those hungry broncos through the Corral, but it is gratifying and so fun to catch a glimpse of them at school.
Thank you for the gift of your time and all you do for our school!
