Golf Stands in Second after 18 Holes at State Championships
The Brophy golf team is second overall after the first 18 holes of the AIA Division I State Tournament at the Aguila Golf Course. The Broncos shot 290 to trail Hamilton (287) by three strokes heading into the second round. Seniors Henry Dall and Tyler Spielman led the team with rounds of 68 and 69, respectively.
Dall is tied for the individual lead, while Spielman is tied for fourth overall. Dall is tied for the lead with Adam Croix of Liberty and Joe Houghton of Perry at four-under par 68. He posted six birdies and two bogeys on his round. Spielman was one stroke back with a three-under-par 69 produced with five birdies and two bogeys.
Junior Dylan Boenning shot a one-over par 73 and ranks tied for 18th overall. Freshman Asher Nelson and Nathan Ash carded rounds of 80 and 82.
The final round will be played on Friday. Tickets are available on GoFan.co. Pairings will posted later today.
