Alumnus Flavio Bravo Appointed to Fill State Senate Vacancy

Flavio Bravo '12, a fifth-generation Arizonan and previously a member of the Arizona House of Representatives, has been appointed to fill the Senate vacancy left by Raquel Terán who resigned to run for Congress. Bravo was sworn into office on May 8. He was appointed by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors from a list of three candidates chosen by the Democratic committee members in Phoenix's Legislative District 26. Those same committee members will now submit a slate of nominees to fill Bravo's vacant position in the House.

After graduating from Brophy in 2012, Bravo attended Loyola University Chicago where he was the student body president. After graduating from Loyola, he returned to Brophy as a member of the 2016-17 Alumni Service Corps and following that stint, he earned his master's in migration studies from the University of San Francisco. He also spent a year in Washington, D.C., as a Hispanic Caucus Institute graduate fellow before returning to Phoenix to run for the Arizona House from Phoenix Legislative District 26.
