Brophy Crew at the 2022 HOCR

Juniors Ian O’Riley, Will Carter and Hayden Penn competed in the Head of the Charles on Sunday in Boston.  
Brophy's single scull entry Ian O’Riley finished ninth in the Men’s Youth Singles (19:14), ranking third in the under 17 division. His finish guaranteed him an invitation back to the 2023 event. 

Brophy's Double Scull entry of Carter and Penn placed 52nd in the Men’s Youth Doubles (19:56) in the Open event, which consisted of entries from Canada and Europe. 

The Head of the Charles River is an international event and arguably the most prestigious in rowing outside the Olympic finals or the world championships. This year, more than 11,000 rowers from around the globe competed in the 2022 Head of the Charles Regatta from October 21-22, 2023. Athletes competed over a timed 6000-meter course that winds along the Charles River through five bridges, past MIT, Boston, Harvard, and Northeastern Universities.
