What is your history with swimming?

“I have been swimming my whole life. I played a few other sports including baseball and soccer. But swimming has always been my escape to go to any time of the day. It gives me time to think, honestly, just going down the water. I like the environment and being around my friends.”

What are your individual goals for the season?

“I want to get as close to 4:40 in my 500 free and get to at least a 1:45 in my 200 free.”

What has been your favorite swimming moment?

“My favorite moment was during freshman year qualifying for the finals in the 500 freestyle.”

What are your college plans?

“I am still doing my college applications, but I am sure I want to attend a California school. I like the ocean environment on the coast. I do plan on swimming in college, and I am looking at Harvey Mudd College but I am looking at all engineering colleges.”

Tell us about Eagle Scout recognition.

“It is the final ranking in Boy Scouts. I have been in the Scouts since 2016 minus some time away during Covid. I fell out of going to Boys Scouts. As my junior year came around, I realized it was something I wanted to do and got serious about it again. I just have my Board of Review left.”

How does the dedication of getting your Eagle Scout translate into your success in swimming?

“I would say there is a connection. When I get dedicated to something, I try to stay connected to it.”
