Gabe has been swimming since he was four years old. He is a specialist in the 200 IM and 100 Fly. He was part of the Brophy state championship team in 2019 and has been a qualifier for four years at the state championships. He was fourth in the 200 IM (1:52.08) and fifth in the 100 butterfly. He is committed to swimming and attending school at Georgetown.

What are you most excited about your senior year?
“I am excited to spend my last year with all my teammates. I have gone through a lot since my freshman year, and I want to make the most of every moment I have with the team. I want to keep up my grades, have fun and strengthen our connection.”

Why did you commit to Georgetown?
“I am planning to go into the medical field, and I am interested in their pre-med program and in the future their medical program. The team stood out for me on my visit because the coach had half the team show me around the campus. I felt like it was where I wanted to be. Georgetown is the best for my athletic and academic needs.”

What has been your favorite Brophy memory?
“My favorite memory is the swimming retreat. What we do at the retreat is the moment the team is brought together, and the freshmen are drawn in. Everyone learns more about each other and bond through the activities. It is what makes this team special and why I cherish the retreat.”

What are your goals for the season?
“I want to bring the best out of everyone. I prioritize the team goals more than individual goals because it helps you get through the sport.”

How has the start of the season been with a 2-0 dual meet start?
“We are experimenting with our relays and have been really pushing ourselves. Each week we learn more about what we need to do, and it helps us build up toward state. At that moment we will be able to achieve something good.”
