Golf in Second at The Brophy Rodeo presented by PING

Junior Tyler Spielman shot a two-under-par 70 to pace the Broncos after 18 holes of The Brophy Rodeo presented by PING. He stands in a tie for third in the individual standings.

Spielman carded three birdies over the last five holes to overcome three bogeys on the back nine. He posted a two-under 34 on the front nine with birdies on the first and seventh holes. Overall, he stands in a tie for third place overall, tied with a group of three at two-under par 70 including Kihei Akina (Lone Park) and Vincent Cervante (Hamilton).

Lone Peak (Highland, Utah) senior Cooper Jones, a BYU commit, shot a 10-under par 62 to lead by seven strokes. He had nine birdies, one eagle and one bogey starting on the 10th hole of the Raptor course. He had a birdie putt on the ninth hole (his 18th hole).

Brophy senior Charlie Palmer ranks eighth overall with his first-round 72. Junior Henry Dall is one stroke back after a 73 and sophomore Nick Lyman posted a three-over 75.
