Brophy Crew Records Top Finishes at USRowing Youth National Championships 

SARASOTA, Fla. - Rising junior Ian O’Riley placed second in the Grand Final in the U17 single division Sunday at the USRowing Youth National Championships. He crossed second overall just 2.6 seconds behind to win the silver medal and the No. 2 national ranking. 

Classmates Hayden Penn and Will Carter finished 14th in the “C” final of the U17 double division, narrowly missing third place in a photo finish. 

The three Brophy student-athletes competed for four days at the event over the weekend including a time trial, semifinal, and grand final rounds. They earned the berths at their divisional championships last month. The national field included the top three crews from each section of the United States. 

Congratulations to Head Coach Pete Cannia and the Brophy coaching staff for leading the Broncos to these accomplishments.
