Brophy Trio Set for USRowing Youth National Championships 

SARASOTA, Fla. - Rising juniors Ian O’Riley, Will Carter, and Hayden Penn will compete this week at the USRowing Youth National Championships. The event will take place June 9-12 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Fla. The regatta features more than 2,000 rowers racing for medals in up to 43 events. 

The Broncos qualified at the Southwest Youth Championships last month in Gold River, Calif., an event that included programs from California, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah. 

O’Riley won the Gold Medal in the Men’s U17 Single, while Carter and Penn combined for the Bronze Medal in the Men’s U17 Double at the Southwest Championships. 

The 2022 USRowing Youth National Championships will be live-streamed on the USRowing YouTube account on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. 

Brophy Crew coach Peter Cannia will travel with the student-athletes to Florida.
