Brophy Solar Project to Reduce Energy Consumption by 48%

On May 5, Brophy dedicated a long-planned solar project which began as a proposal from the Student Climate Coalition. The SCC researched the cost and benefit and presented the proposal to the Board of Trustees, suggesting that the money saved in energy costs could go toward need-based financial aid. The Board approved funding and installation of solar arrays began earlier this spring in partnership with Ameresco. The project includes 118 covered parking spaces, as well as rooftop panels, with estimated energy savings of 48%. More information can be found at the links below.
