Other: Mr. Catan has presented papers about Ernest Hemingway at nine national and international conferences including the International Hemingway Conference in Paris in 2018. He is presenting another paper at the Rocky Mountain Modern Language Association Conference on Oct. 14, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His essay "Sylvia Beach: Hemingway's Most Impassioned Supporter" was published in The Hemingway Review. Mr. Catan is also a book critic with bylines in USA Today, The New York Times, the Los Angeles Review of Books, the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and upcoming in the Harvard Review and Minnesota Monthly.
