Brophy’s O’Riley Takes 5th in the Stotesbury Cup Grand Final
Rising senior Ian O'Riley ‘24 of Brophy Rowing finished fifth in the grand final of this year's Stotesbury Cup Regatta in Philadelphia, PA.
Ian was involved in a tight six-boat race the entire length of the 1500-meter course, which ended in a three-way photo finish fight for third place, which he was awarded fifth. Ian was the only high school junior in the grand final.
The Stotesbury Cup Regatta is the world's oldest and largest high school rowing competition. It is held annually in mid-May over two days on the Schuylkill River near Boathouse Row in Philadelphia.
Ian will now go on to compete in the USRowing Youth National Championships in Sarasota, Fla, June 8-11, and the US National Team trials.
