Orientation is mandatory for all students. School pictures are taken during orientation, so students must be in dress code. Students should bring a backpack and water bottle. Counselor room assignments will be communicated to students the week of orientation.

Class of 2030, Welcome to Brophy

Freshmen are expected to be in the front lawn by 8:00 a.m. where they will be greeted by their Big Brothers who, along with their advisor, will shepherd them through rotations acclimating them to life on campus. They will end with a personal tour of their class schedule and be dismissed by noon. They will also receive their MacBooks and Brophy ties as part of their orientation. Please see the technology section of this webpage for more information on picking up MacBooks.

Class of 2029, 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

All sophomores need to be ​with their counselors by 11:00 a.m. Room locations will be emailed directly to students by Monday, August 3. Students must be in proper dress code for Orientation Day​, as school photos will be taken. If students arrive out of dress code, they will be sent home and will have to make up the day’s activities at another time. 

Class of 2027, 11:45 - 1:30 p.m.

All seniors need to be ​with their counselors by 11:45 a.m.  Room locations will be emailed directly to students by Monday, August 3. Students must be in proper dress code for Orientation Day​, as school photos will be taken. If students arrive out of dress code, they will be sent home and will have to make up the day’s activities at another time. 

Class of 2028 — 1​2:30 p.m. -​ 2 p.m. 

All juniors need to be ​with their counselors by 12:30 p.m. Room locations will be emailed directly to students by Monday, August 3. Students must be in proper dress code for Orientation Day​, as school photos will be taken. If students arrive out of dress code, they will be sent home and will have to make up the day’s activities at another time. 

In addition to a la carte offerings, the Corral offers a student lunch buffet for $8.00 (which includes an entree and fountain beverage drink). A breakfast buffet will be available in the Corral, beginning at 7 a.m. daily. 

The Corral accepts student ID scans for a preloaded declining balances, cash, Apple Pay or credit/debit cards after selecting their items for purchase. To use a student ID/declining balance, go to MyKidsSpending to set up an account to preload funds for your son.

Please note the following:
Reusable bottles are encouraged; however, if filled using Corral’s fountain machine, the contents will be subject to payment based on volume.

School Pictures, All Students

All students will have their photo taken during Orientation on Wednesday, Aug. 5. Parents can order a photo package from Signature Images online at their website one week AFTER photos are taken using their unique access code provided in your email or with a sheet provided on picture day.

Please note that Signature Images does not take pre-orders before picture day. One week after Orientation/picture day, parents will receive an email with the photos to view and order. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Sandra Dennard in the Student Activities Office.

Senior Pictures

Brophy has contracted with Signature Images for senior photos to be used in the Yearbook and Senior Composite. These photos are in addition to the school ID photos taken at orientation. Please schedule a photo shoot in the Signature Images Studio over summer by visiting the Signature Images Website.  You should have received information in the mail regarding Signature Images, their sessions, and our dress code.  If you did not receive anything, please reach out to Ms. Sandra Dennard in the Student Activities Office.

The Student Activities Office and Student Council have planned a number of activities to welcome students back to school. Please make sure you have these dates on your calendar:

• Wednesday, Aug. 5: Orientation for all students
• Thursday, Aug. 6: First day of classes
• Friday, Aug. 7: Welcome-Back Bash, after school and on campus. This event is mandatory for freshmen and Big Brothers.
• Saturday, Aug. 8: Back-to-School Boutique, a moms-only gathering to kick off the school year and the first chance to shop all the new gear in the Varsity Shop. Join us at the Varsity Shop and SAC from 6-8 p.m. to meet other moms as we gather for food, drinks and shopping. RSVP here.
• Wednesday, Aug. 12: Back-to-School Night, 6-9 p.m., parents only
• Friday, Aug. 14: The 2030 Frosh Mixer, 7-9 p.m. on Brophy’s campus. The annual Brophy Student Council event for incoming Brophy and Xavier ninth-graders will take place from 7-9 p.m. on Brophy’s campus.
• Monday, Aug. 17: Club and Activity Expo during community period
• Tuesday, Aug. 25: Senior and Senior Parent Night, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
• Thursday, Aug. 27: Brophy vs. Hamilton, with a student tailgate at 5:30 p.m. on campus before walking over to Central High School
• Friday, Sept. 11: Back-to-School Dance, 9-11 p.m. on Brophy’s campus after the football game
• Saturday, Sept. 19, 10 a.m. to Sunday, Sept. 20, noon: Freshman Retreat

Want to follow the Activities and Athletics Calendars?

The Activities and Athletics Calendars are a reflection of life at Brophy. On any given day there is a multitude of events that occur from early morning through late evening that involve our students, faculty, staff and parents. The details of many of those events are subject to change. The Activities and Athletics Calendars are available online and will be updated as we are made aware of changes. The calendars are available through the Brophy website and, using an iCal file, will be accessible from virtually any mobile device, laptop or computer. At this link you will find a guide for your use in subscribing to the Brophy online calendars from your particular online calendar, whether you use Microsoft Outlook, Mac Calendar or Google Calendar. You should be able to print the calendar from these platforms as well; however, we recommend that you do not attempt to print anything more than a weekly version.

For All Parents and Students: Textbooks and Digital Resources for the 2026-27 School Year

Most student textbooks and resources will be available for download on students’ MacBook Airs at no additional cost when the 2026-27 school year begins. However, for some classes, students will need to purchase a paper textbook through an online retailer.

The complete list of textbooks and resources for next year is located here and is also accessible through myBrophy by going to the Student Portal or Parent Portal. The list was finalized on the last day of summer school. This gives students and parents several weeks to acquire any required texts.

No books should be purchased unless the course for which it is required is actually on the student’s schedule. If the course is an elective and the student is contemplating a schedule change, please do not purchase the book until his schedule is considered final. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that he has the proper texts and resources for each course he takes.

Technology Resources Website for Parents

Parents have an online resource for information and tips about technology, screen time and parenting in a digital age. There is a wealth of research, best practices and suggestions available, and many of those resources have been gathered on this site. We encourage parents to explore what is available and talk to their sons this summer about technology use.

For Freshman Parents and Students: Class of 2030 MacBook Air Pickup and Technology Training

All students from the Class of 2030 will pick up their MacBook Air computers and other technology items during Freshman Orientation on Wednesday, Aug. 5. Students will then complete required online training through Canvas, our learning management system. Our technology staff will be working this summer to do the initial setup on each computer so students will pick up a MacBook Air that is pre-assigned to them and largely ready to use.

Students and parents will receive an email from Mr. Mica Mulloy in early August with more information about their computer, account access and training. The email will include a barcode for pickup. Please watch for that email and make sure your son has either an electronic or printed copy of it with him at Freshman Orientation. He will use that barcode to receive his computer.

Coach Oscar Borboa

Brophy Cross Country engages in long-distance running and participates in meets at the varsity, junior varsity, and freshman levels. No experience is necessary, and training is tailored to the runner's level. For more information or to be added to the summer contact list, email Coach Borboa.

Optional summer training is underway, but the team allows the Broncos to join at any point. Practices are held Monday through Thursday mornings throughout the summer school session.

The first day of official, mandatory practices for the fall season is Aug. 3. To be added to the communication list, or if you have any questions, contact Head Coach Oscar Borboa.

Cross Country Basics:

1. Fall Sport - Cross Country is an official AIA Fall Sport, which runs from August into October (Our Varsity Broncos compete in the State Championship every November). This would conflict with Golf, Swim & Dive, Mountain Biking, and Football seasons.

2. No Experience Necessary - Very few student-athletes have experience running cross country before high school, so a vast majority of the Broncos on our team begin with little to no experience.

3. No Cut - Cross Country at Brophy is a no-cut sport, but of course morning practices during the season are mandatory. Additionally, everyone on the team is eligible to compete at almost all our races - we do not have a "bench" !

4. New Friends - Because of its place as a Fall sport, it can be a great window into making new friends right away from all different grade levels. We generally train as a "full team," and some freshmen can even work their way into the Varsity group.

• The weight room is open July 13-31, Monday-Thursday (8-9 a.m. run and 9-10:30 a.m. lift).
• The varsity and junior varsity equipment handout will be Thursday, July 30 at 8:30 a.m.
• Manresa Retreat (varsity only) is scheduled for July 31 -Aug. 2.
• The first day of practice is Aug. 3. All practices are mandatory.
• We will practice on Labor Day, Veterans' Day, Fall Break, and Thanksgiving (when we make the playoffs). Please plan accordingly.

Coach Scott Heideman

• Saturday, Aug. 1 – Conditioning test at 6 a.m. and equipment handout at 7 a.m. The first day of the official fall camp is Monday, Aug. 2 at 5:50 a.m.
• Please wear a plain white or Brophy white T-shirt with your first and last name on the front and back, accompanied by cleats and black, red or gray shorts. You will ideally need at least a 64-oz refillable water bottle as well.  
• We will practice on Labor Day and during Fall Break. Please plan accordingly.

Coach Bill Woods 

• Monday, Aug. 17 – Monday-Thursday after school at Phoenix Tennis Center until 5 p.m.
• A bus will take players to practice every day. Parents will pick up players at the Phoenix Tennis Center at 5 p.m. after practice.
• All requirements for physicals and AIA online coursework must be completed before joining the team.

Coach Jon Shores

The first round of tryouts for the Varsity golf team is set for Monday, Aug. 3 at Encanto Golf Course with times beginning at approximately 3 p.m. There will be a short meeting at 2:45 p.m. on the driving range before the first day of tryouts. Tryouts will continue on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at Phoenix Country Club. All 4 rounds of tryouts will consist of 9 holes. Tryouts are open to all students.  

No spectators are allowed at tryouts.

If you plan on trying out for the 2026 team, you must fill out THIS GOOGLE FORM no later than Friday, July 31. The form will go live in late July. YOU MUST USE YOUR BROPHY EMAIL ADDRESS TO ACCESS THE FORM. Coach Shores will email students with their tee times for Aug. 3.  A cut will be made after the first, second and fourth rounds — more details will be emailed after the signup period.

ALL students who plan on participating in the tryouts must have their physical and emergency forms on file with Mrs. Wade, Brophy’s Athletic Trainer, before they are allowed to compete.

Brophy participates in the Arizona Scholastic Cycling League and competes in five races during the season. Preparing for these races includes time on the trail, in the weight room, and in spin class.

Join the Brophy/Xavier mountain bike team as we embark upon our 13th season. All ability levels are welcome, and bikes are available for loan and purchase. Contact Coach Hemmerlin for more information and to reserve a loaner bike. 

• The Summer Night Ride series is underway. The next night practice is Saturday, July 18, at the Apache Wash Trailhead.  6:45 PM-8:45 p.m.
• Standard weekday practices will start with Spin at XCP on Aug. 10 at 3 p.m.

Coach Pete Cannia

• Brophy Rowing is a no-cut sport that meets both in the fall and spring. During your freshman year, you will embark on six regattas, three in the fall and three in the spring, with a chance to attend the USRowing Southwest Youth Championships. The program qualified two boats for the 2026 National Championships and produced a 2024 National Champion and a U.S. National team member. Practice starts Monday, Aug. 17, at 3 p.m. inside the Loyola Hall Basement. Please contact our assistant coach Kaleo Bolosan.
• Brophy Rowing conducts “Learn-to-Rows” at Tempe Town Lake. The events are held on Saturdays in July (11, 18, 25), starting at 7 a.m. and ending at 10 a.m. Everyone interested in learning to row and possibly joining the Brophy crew in the fall is highly encouraged to attend. The class can be repeated as many times as they want. The cost is $50 a session. Spaces are limited.
• Interested parties should contact assistant coach Kaleo Bolosan. 

Coach Robert Tolar 

• Tryouts are scheduled for Aug. 10-12, from 2:45 to 4:45 p.m. at the Reese Aquatic Center.
• Students must attend all three days of tryouts.
• Practice begins on Aug. 13 and will take place Monday-Friday (A: 2:30-4:30 p.m., B: 1:15-3:15 p.m.), as well as on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to noon.
