New for 2019-20 – Esports!

Esports, sanctioned by the Arizona Interscholastic Association, will be included in the sports offerings at Brophy and other high schools around the state beginning with the 2019-20 school year.

The AIA will run two seasons of esports – one in the fall and one in the spring. Two games will be chosen for each season, for a total of four games for the year. Currently, games are under review with selections to be announced at a later date. Esports competition will culminate in an AIA state championship tournament.

Esports Updates

List of 2 items.

  • School Year Kick-Off

Thanks to all the students who volunteered their time to come out, test equipment, and get the lab set up, the Brophy esports lab is now almost complete.

The AIA esports advisory committee will be meeting this month to make suggestions about game selection. In the meantime, we are waiting for those decisions, as well as the AIA announcement of the season's start date. We will pass on that information to students and parents as soon as we have it.
  • Open Lab

The esports lab, located in the Innovation Commons, will be open for students to use after school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The lab will be open each week until the AIA selects the games for the fall season. Students will need to sign up to reserve a station during open lab hours. Links to the sign-up sheets are available in the Daily Bulletin.
