Esports, sanctioned by the Arizona Interscholastic Association, was added to the sports offerings at Brophy and other high schools around the state beginning with the 2019-20 school year. The AIA hosts two seasons of esports — one in the fall and one in the spring. The games selected by the AIA are Rocket League, League of Legends and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate which run each season.

The competition culminates in an AIA state championship tournament for each game. Brophy has won the AIA championship titles for both League of Legends and Rocket League in 2019, 2020 and 2021 and Rocket League in 2019, 2020 and 2021 and the inaugural championship for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in spring 2021.
Brophy also participates in the PlayVS Regional League for Overwatch. PlayVS runs state, regional and national tournaments throughout the year for various games. Brophy's Overwatch team won the 2020 fall Mountain Regional championship title and the spring 2021 Pacific Regional championship title.
Brophy's esports lab is located in the Innovation Commons. This state-of-the-art lab is home to all of Brophy’s esports teams and hosts open lab hours for all students.
Students who are interested in participating in Esports at Brophy should contact for more information.
