Staying in Touch as We Practice Social Distancing: A Note to Brophy Moms

No, we didn't see this coming, but here we are and blessed that there are ways we can still connect, maintain friendships, and support our sons. Let's connect online and keep one another, and our sons and families, in our prayers! If you haven't already, please join our Brophy Moms' Facebook Group  (you must request to join — we are watching closely and will accept your request promptly). Please note... We kindly ask that no one sets up a Brophy Mothers' Guild Facebook class page on her own. Brophy Mothers' Guild-branded social media must be established through the executive committee. Thank you! We look forward to providing a positive, vibrant online forum for Brophy moms!

New Family Welcome Team Members Needed!
Help us welcome our newest Bronco families as a part of the Brophy Welcome Committee! Welcome Team members call parents of incoming freshman/transfer students over the summer, checking in to welcome them to Brophy and answer any questions they may have. Ideally, we will ask you to make about ten calls during the week prior to the first day of school. We also need five to six Spanish-speaking parents who can call families. If you could lend some phone time, please email Jennifer Swenson at

Chapel Care – Tuesday, April 13, 8:15-9:30 a.m., Brophy Chapel
Only two more opportunities remain this school year to care for our beautiful chapel. If you have a bit of spare time and would like to help prepare this special place for worship, please sign up to volunteer HERE or contact Kim Kunasek at, Jamaica King at or Amy Paul at

L.I.F.T. Meeting – Thursday, April 22, 10:30 a.m., Brophy Chapel
Join us in the Brophy Chapel for the final Ladies in Faith Together (L.I.F.T.) of the school year! In addition to learning more about Mary Magdalene, we will take time to reflect on our many blessings and intentions for the summer. L.I.F.T. gathers as women of faith for a devotional and prayer, and for a truly uplifting and encouraging time. L.I.F.T. is non-denominational and alumni moms are always welcome. For more information, please contact Grace Dubberly at or Ellen Schwartz at

Mothers’ Guild Meeting – Thursday, April 22, 11:30 a.m., Robson Gym
Please join us for the final Mothers' Guild meeting of the school year. We will gather IN PERSON to welcome our new Class of 2025 moms, bid farewell to our senior moms with a special blessing, and send the 2020-2021 Executive Board off with heartfelt tradition as they pass the torch to the incoming board members.

Kindly provide a firm RSVP via the Evite you received last week by Thursday, April 8 so we can adequately plan for AMDG social distancing. Questions? Please contact Lana Holmes at We literally can't wait to see you!

Brophy Book Club – Thursday, April 22, 6:45 p.m., TBD
Join the Book Club as we discuss “Oona Out of Order”, a remarkably inventive novel that explores what it means to live a life fully in the moment, even if those moments are out of sequence. Surprising, magical and heart-wrenching, Margarita Montimore has crafted an unforgettable story about the burdens of time, the endurance of love and the power of family. Please contact Ellen Schwartz at if you would like to be added to or removed from the Evite list.

A heartfelt thank you goes to …
  • Kelly Bennan and Sarah Churchill for planning not one, but two beautiful Mother-Son Communion Mass mornings. The Mass was meaningful, poignant and heartfelt, and the speech by Dr. Ana Moran was positive and uplifting. We are so grateful to both of you for agreeing to have two of these special mornings!
  • Mr. Fisko and Mr. Vegara for providing the wonderful music for our Mother-Son Communion Mass services. Their beautiful voices and moving songs brought tears to many eyes.
  • Our wonderful Senior Mom chairs, Ashley Carlson, Jennifer Funke, Natalie Meszaros and Trish Shyman, another team who worked tirelessly to create two memorable retreats for our senior moms. We truly appreciate all of you and your loving hearts!
  • Terri Tierney, Senior Mom retreat guest speaker, for your wise and poignant words. You are a blessing to all of us!
  • Staff Appreciation angel, Cathi Triplett, who has been involved in putting on Staff Appreciation Breakfasts for our beloved Brophy staffers since 2010. We are truly grateful for her many years of work and dedication and will miss her terribly as her last son graduates in May!
  • Fashion Show chairs extraordinaire, Nancy Bates and Tess Burleson, for working tirelessly with so much love in your hearts to plan the fabulous Class of 2021 Fashion Show benefiting the Brophy Financial Aid Fund. It was a pleasure working with you this past year for such a great cause. We are so proud of both of you!
  • Donna Cleinman and Abby Kerkhove, our awesome Brophy Auction chairs, for putting on a smashingly successful online auction. Your positive attitudes and big smiles made everyone around you happy, and your efforts to raise money for the Financial Aid Fund were amazing.
  • The Brophy administration, faculty and staff for your steadfast work to educate and nurture our sons and help them grow into Men for Others.
