Now that the boys are settled into their Brophy routines, it is time for us to reflect on our role within the Brophy Community. Just as each of your boys was chosen to fill a unique role in their specific graduating class, you too are needed to fill your unique role within the Brophy Mothers’ Guild Community! Please consider the personal gifts you can offer the Brophy Community. Nominations for a wide variety of Mothers’ Guild roles are open, click here for the nomination form. Last Call for Contributions for 12 Days of Christmas, Dec. 2-16
Nov. 17 is the deadline for contributions for the upcoming 12 Days of Christmas — our annual celebration of meals/gifts/holiday cheer for our 156 Brophy Faculty and Staff members. Help us thank these beloved people by contributing toward gift cards, via this link. Any amount is helpful and appreciated! We are still in need of one more group to provide a breakfast or lunch during the 12 Days of Christmas. Please contact Monica Spitza if you can help. Thank you to all who have donated and to those who have signed up to provide a meal, we are grateful for your generosity.

Brophy Book Club – Thursday, Nov. 21, 6:45 p.m., Pomelo at the Orchard, Wine Cellar
Join us at our November Book Club meeting as we discuss an engaging romantic comedy, “The Rosie Project.” If you’d like to get a head start on the book for our Dec. 5 meeting, we will be reading “Where’d You Go, Bernadette: A Novel,” by Maria Semple. We will also have our Christmas book exchange at the December meeting. Stay tuned for more details!
Brophy Hiking Club – Friday, Nov. 22, 8:45 a.m., South Mountain Preserve
“A Hiking We Will Go!” Join us for a beautiful November hike on the Mormon Trail to Fat Man's Pass, in the South Mountain Preserve. Meet at 8:45 a.m. at the Mormon Trailhead for a group photo and we will begin hiking at 9 a.m. Lunch afterwards will be at the Farm at South Mountain at 6106 S. 32nd St. Please bring cash for lunch, if possible, and gift cards to donate to Mothers’ Grace are always appreciated. Our next hike will take place on Thursday, Dec. 12 on the Cholla Trail at Camelback Mountain. If you have any questions, please contact Diana Dunnigan, Libby Murphy, or Christi Sourk.
Father-Son Communion Breakfast – Saturday, Nov. 23, 7:30 a.m.-12 p.m., St. Francis Xavier Church and Harper Great Hall
The Mothers’ Guild cheerfully lends a helping hand at this annual event for Brophy fathers and sons. We need 30+ volunteers for two shifts. Please consider helping! The Dads’ Club generously supports our Mother-Son Communion breakfast in February, so let’s help them out with their special event. Click here to volunteer or contact Brandi Sutton with questions. Let’s Get Together! “Jingle and Mingle” Holiday Luncheon, Tuesday, Dec. 3, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., The Lincoln Room at Camelback Inn
Enjoy a festive holiday lunch with Brophy moms in the beautiful setting of The Lincoln Room at Camelback Inn. Ticket price is $50, and specific details will be sent to those who register. We will be collecting gift cards to donate to Boys Hope Girls Hope, an organization that nurtures and guides motivated young people in need to become well-educated men and women for others. Gift cards will be used as Christmas “stocking stuffers” for the scholars and general supplies for the residences. Suggestions include, but are not limited to, Amazon, Target, Starbucks, Raising Cane’s, AMC/Harkins, Sauce, Chipotle, Walmart, etc. Questions? Please contact the

Advent Prayer Service – Thursday, Dec. 5, 8:45 -11:15 a.m., Brophy Chapel and Jesuit Garden
Please join us for an uplifting morning of music, prayer, reading, and reflection in our beautiful Brophy Chapel. All faiths are welcome. Following the service, a light luncheon will be served in Harper Great Hall. A digital invitation was distributed the week of Nov. 4. January Mothers’ Guild Luncheon & Meeting – Thursday, Jan. 9, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Harper Great Hall
Please join us for our first meeting of 2020! At this annual Q&A session, we’ll introduce you to an energetic panel of recent Brophy graduates who will share what life is like as college freshmen. They will inform and entertain us as they talk about their adventures and accomplishments in academics, athletics, scholarship opportunities, Greek life, and campus activities. January Joint Meeting With Dads’ Club – Thursday, Jan. 9, 6-8 p.m., Harper Great Hall
This is a repeat of the daytime meeting, only with the dads too! Grab a slice of pizza and learn about the freshman experience from our panel of recent Brophy grads.

Black Family Alliance Black History Month Festival – Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, 12-4 p.m., Brophy
The Brophy Black Family Alliance would like to invite you to an engaging festival to celebrate Black History Month. Experience Khalid el-Hakim’s mobile history, Public Enemy’s Prof. Griff, the Pilgrim Rest Gospel choir, a speech by Frederick Douglas, arts and crafts, food and drink, and so much more! Spring Mothers' Guild Retreats
SAVE THE DATE! The Spring Mothers’ Guild Retreat takes place for one night only on Friday, Feb. 28 to Saturday, Feb. 29 for ALL classes. The Senior-only retreat is also one night from Feb. 29 to Mar. 1. Each retreat will have a different registration process. Brophy Spring Auction - “Under the Boardwalk”
Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 21, 2020 for the annual Brophy Auction. Please join us for a night of fun, festivities, and giving! Our Auction kickoff meeting will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 9 a.m. in the LaCona Room. If you would like to join our committee, please contact the chairs, Lori Logan or Abby Kerkhove. Brophy Mothers’ Guild Lifetime Membership – REGISTER TODAY!
The Mothers’ Guild needs ONE, JUST ONE, more membership to meet our fundraising goal for the year! Proceeds from Lifetime Memberships go toward many special events, including our monthly luncheon meetings, the New Parent Luncheon, Advent and Lenten Prayer Services, Beach Bash and so much more. Brophy Prayer Chain
The Brophy Prayer Group is committed to offering prayer support for anyone in the Brophy community who has a medical or personal concern. These Prayer Warriors are here for you in time of need, and also if you desire to send an intention for prayers. Prayer requests received will be shared by email with the prayer group, along with scripture that will inspire each person that participates. Each member will pray for the specific intention request in their own special way. Please contact Christy O’Gara at with your requests, and please confirm the family is aware and requests our prayers. Email Christy if you would like to be added to the Brophy Prayer Chain group.
