President Adria Renke to Retire in 2023, Succession Plan for the Presidency Announced in Fall 2021

In November 2021, Brophy Board Chair Thomas Palmer ’84, sent this letter to the community announcing that President Adria Renke plans to retire after the 2022-23 school year and that a leadership succession plan is in place. Principal Bob Ryan will become president next summer and, in January 2022, Ryan announced that Jim Bopp will succeed him as principal. Bopp was Brophy's assistant principal for technology before leaving in 2016 to become principal at Creighton College Preparatory in Omaha, Nebraska. He arrived back on Brophy's campus this past summer to serve as the vice principal for the 2022-23 school year.

President Renke has served Brophy for 25 years — first as vice president of development, then as interim president in 2016 when Fr. Eddie Reese, S.J. left Brophy to become president at St. Ignatius College Preparatory in San Francisco. In January 2017, Brophy's Board of Trustees announced that Renke would become Brophy's 11th president. For a timeline of Brophy presidents, visit this page.
