Our Summit schedule is designed to facilitate the examination of immigration through the lens of human dignity. In an effort to focus on people not problems, stories not statistics, we’ve structured the summit according to four questions. Please note that each of the listed activities will be attended by the entire student body and faculty. While we’d like to invite our entire extended community, we have limited space available for each activity. Please contact the Office of Faith and Justice if you are interested in attending a given talk.

These two young people will address our student body. Luis is a student at ASU and one of the ‘Wilson 4 .’ While an Honors Student at Wilson High School, Luis was detained on a school trip when it was discovered that he was undocumented. He continues to fight to remain in the United States. Pedro is 17 years old and from Guatemala. Because it is essential that we hear stories from people, not just about them, both Luis and Pedro will address the question: ‘Why do people leave?’’ based on their own personal experience.
For the assemblies on this day, we’ll have freshman and sophomores attend the first assembly with Luis in the gym and then juniors and seniors will attend the talk with Pedro in the great hall. For the second assembly, the groups will attend the alternate assembly.
