Coach O’Neill grew up in Scottsdale, AZ.  He attended St. Daniels Parochial School and graduated from Coronado High School.  Pat attended Arizona State University and studied Mechanical Engineering.  He received his masters from Northern Arizona University in Secondary Math Education in 2002.

Pat started competitive swimming at the age of six, and has remained involved in aquatics ever since.  He coached 9 years at  Mountain View High School and the last two years at Brophy College Prep.  He has produced 25 All American swimmers, 12 All American relays, his 2001 team was ranked 6th and last year’s team was ranked 5th in the United States.  He has coached 5 state State Runner-Up teams  and the last two State Champion teams.  He was selected Region Coach of the year in 1997, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2006, and 2007. Tribune Sports Writers Coach of the year in 1997, 2000, 2001, Arizona Boys 5A Coach of the Year in 2001, 2006 and Arizona’s 4A/5A Boys coach of the year in 2001.

Pat has been married for 15 years, and has two daughters, Riley is 10, and Shea is 8.

Jennifer Gibson is the Head Age Group Coach at BEST, bringing her vitality and expertise to the Red, Rising Stars and Starfish groups.  Jennifer has been coaching club swimming since 1983, starting with the Southeast YMCA in Fort Wayne, IN from 1983-1987 (where she met husband Dave Gibson, our Head Coach), then Fort Wayne Aquatics from 1988-2003, and lastly Mecklenburg Aquatic Club in Charlotte, NC from 2003-2007 before gracing us with her coaching skills here at BEST.

Jennifer has coached 25 National Top 16 Age Groupers, including 2 National Age Group Record Holders.  She was recognized as Indiana Age Group Coach of the Year on 3 separate occasions, Indiana Coach of the Year on 1 occasion, and Indiana Zone Coach on 5 occasions, and was the Indiana Camp Coordinator for 10 years during which time she organized and ran 22 camps.  On the high school front, Jennifer coached Snider High School in Fort Wayne, IN for 16 years.  Her girl’s team finished in the Top 10 at the Indiana High School State Meet 14 of the 16 years she coached.
