Dear Parents,
This is the final edition of the eNews for the 2011-2012 school year. Throughout this newsletter you will find important information related to the beginning of the new school year in August. Please take some time during the coming days to read this entire newsletter carefully. Another document with which you should become familiar is Brophy’s Activities Calendar. A digital version of the Calendar will be available on Brophy’s website no later than July 9th and hard copies will be distributed to students during orientation on Monday, August 13th.
Before school starts up again in just a few short weeks, I hope that you and your son are able to take a long look back at the past year. If you haven’t already, spend some time reviewing his spring semester report card, transcript, and schedule for the upcoming year. All of these documents can be found on NetClassroom. Where did he experience success this past year? What teachers, classes, or assignments really impacted him? What struggles did he have and what lessons are to be learned from those struggles? In what activities did he involve himself? What opportunities did he miss or not take advantage of? Where is he spending his time when he’s away from school? Do his friends bring out the best in him? Our hope is that students enter the new school year intentionally, having reflected on the past year and articulated goals for the year to come.
I also want to take this opportunity to officially welcome the Class of 2016 and their parents to the Brophy community. We look forward with anticipation to your arrival on campus for Orientation on August 13th. The first weeks of school are designed to help you become familiar with all that Brophy offers and we encourage you to jump in with both feet. Every member of the faculty and staff will be happy to help you in any way we can to help ensure that your son has a rich and formative experience over the next four years. We strive to keep parents informed of not only their sons’ progress, but about all that happens at Brophy on a daily and weekly basis. The more you’re able to stay informed, frequent the website, monitor Net Classroom, and read the eNews, the greater our partnership will be. Please take special note of the list of Important/Mandatory Orientation Activities that follows in this edition of the eNews.
Know of my best wishes for a safe and enjoyable remainder of the summer for you and your family. We look forward to seeing your son at orientation on August 13th.
Sincerely,

Bob Ryan
Principal
