A Day at Loyola Academy
Scholars are on campus from 7:30 – 5:30 Mondays through Thursdays. We begin each day with breakfast and physical education – believing those things to set the foundation for a healthy and productive day.
From 9:00 to 3:30, scholars experience their “academic” day and encounter a combination of latin, language arts, mathematics, reading, religious studies, social studies and science. We structure our day so that scholars receive a variety of instructional formats – including small group, whole group and individual instruction. Additionally, each scholar has access to his own iPad during the day to provide even more opportunities to strengthen both his fluency with technology and his grasp of other areas.
In the late afternoons, scholars have the “enrichment” portion of their day – and have quarterly options that include sports activities, art, music, drama, forensics, robotics, chess, and video production.
The “academic” day ends at 12:30 on Fridays. However, two Fridays a month, scholars participate in community activities that we have termed “Fun Friday.” These range from field trips related to their academic studies t0 general cultural expeditions.
