Brophy President
Edward A. Reese, S.J.
In December 1996, Father Edward A. Reese, S.J. joined Brophy as its President. He has had the pleasure of serving in several Jesuit high schools in the California Province and beyond. At Loyola High School in Los Angeles, he served as Theology Department Chair, Director of Campus Ministry and Assistant Principal of Student Affairs. In his next appointment, Father Reese served Bellarmine High School in San Jose as computer instructor, Assistant Principal and Principal. Serving in Sydney, Australia, Ignatius College Riverview, Father Reese was appointed to the positions of Campus Chaplain, teacher and counselor. Before coming to Brophy, Fr. Reese served at Jesuit High School in Sacramento as Assistant to the President.
Father Reese grew up in Southern California and graduated from Loyola High School in Los Angeles. He graduated from Gonzaga University with a BA and a Masters in Philosophy. He later earned a Masters in Theology from the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley. He studied Secondary School Administration at Fordham University.
During his time at Bellarmine, Father Reese served as Chaplain to the San Jose Police Department. He currently holds the position of Chaplain for the Phoenix Police Department in Phoenix, Arizona. Father is a Board member of Boys Hope Girls Hope of Phoenix, Phoenix Community Alliance and is a Trustee at Gonzaga University.
