Brophy Lacrosse: another example of Broncos for Others! This past weekend, the Lacrosse team took part in the Stride for Sight benefiting Foundation for Blind Children (FBC). The Lacrosse team chose FBC as their community service project this year and they showed up at the enmasse!
Foundation for Blind Children CEO Marc Ashton ’84 wrote in an email yesterday, “Not only did they show up on an early Sunday morning, they showed up with great enthusiasm and spirit.”
Stride for Sight is a blindfolded 5K…yes BLINDFOLDED! Runners are blindfolded and guided by their partner through the course. Ashton continued, “It was a great opportunity for them to walk
(run) in a blind person’s shoes for a short while. The team was markedly mature and willing to learn guiding methods and being aware of the other visually impaired runners on the course. Several students even made it on the local news”
Brophy sophomores Cole Malkoff and Luke Myers won the blindfold challenge…out of 450 runners!
