Silver - Some Notes (February 19th)

|

Hi all! Here are some notes for this week….

1) Lost Dutchman Meet Recap
• I was pleased with the swims over this past weekend. I think most swimmers are where they need to be right now. Some factors that are influencing times are…sickness, missing practices, extremely tired from the workload in practice and how much the swimmers put into the practices they are at. We have one month until States. I will begin to separate the group into swimmers that need more rest and those that don’t. My goal is to have all the swimmers experience a fast end of season meet.
• Our age group swimmers (14 and under) won the meet! Congratulations. The boys were 1st and the girls were 5th. The scores combined gave us a 200+ point victory. We need to carry this momentum into the State Meet and make sure we come out on top.
• Congratulations to our two high point award winners…Chris Webb (tied for first) and Celina Li (won all seven events).
• New Yard Sectional Time standards were achieved by Chris Webb (200 Fly and 500 Free) and Celina Li (200 Breast).
• New Yard Far Western Time Standards were achieved by Sally Wang (200 Back) and Chris Webb (200 Back).

2) Practice Schedule for the rest of this week…
• Tuesday 3:30 – 5:30
• Wednesday 5:30 – 7:00am and 3:30 – 6:00 (dryland 5:15 – 6:00)
• Thursday 3:30 – 4:00 Run and 4:00 – 6:00 Swim
• Friday 5:30 – 7:00am and 3:30 – 5:30
• Saturday 7:15 – 8:00 dryland and 8:00 – 10:00 swim
• I did tell all the swimmers that were at Lost Dutchman that they could take off either Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning….but not both.

3) This is the last big push until the end of short course season. Swimmers need to be making all practices to get the most out of their season.

That is all for right now.
Thanks!
Coach Kevin
