Transferring to Brophy

Brophy accepts a limited number of transfer students each year. All transfer students join at the beginning of the school year — we do not accept students mid-year or mid-semester.*

We accept a limited number of students at the start of the 10th and 11th grades. We typically do not accept senior transfers who are coming from public schools because these students have not had the religious studies classes necessary to meet our graduation requirements. The number of transfer students accepted is based on the number of spots available once our current students have registered for the new academic year.

The application process for students wishing to transfer to Brophy for 2024-25 begins Monday, March 4, 2024, with all application materials due on May 1. Decisions are ideally made in mid to late May but can occur as late as early August. Please contact the Admissions Office if you are interested in joining us for the 2024-25 school year.

*If you are moving from out of state mid-year with a job transfer, or have other special circumstances, please contact the Admissions Office for further discussion.

Please note: This school is authorized under Federal law to enroll nonimmigrant alien students.

Steps to Apply

  1. Call or email the Admissions Office to create an admissions profile for your online application.
  2. Complete the online application, including your personal statement. Upon completion of the application, you will be prompted to pay the $80 application fee. If you applied to Brophy last year, you do not need to pay another application fee. Call the admissions office to get a waiver code. If your family requires financial assistance (verified), you can also call our office for a waiver code.
  3. Request the five required recommendation forms and student discipline information report from the appropriate faculty member, administrator or mentor, via email. The Pastor/Minister/Faith Leader recommendation form is optional.
  4. Request your transcripts using the Transcript Request Form which must be downloaded and printed from the checklist. Give the printed form to your school’s registrar.
  5. Create a personal admissions video using a smartphone, tablet or computer.  Please note the following guidelines:
    a)    The maximum final length is two minutes.
    b)    Be authentic and genuine — and have fun! We want the video to reflect who you are and what you love to do. There are no right or wrong answers.
    c)    Videos will not be evaluated for production quality; however, make sure that you are visible and audible during your video. Check the lighting and listen to your video after you have recorded it to ensure you are happy with the final product before submitting it.
    d)    We recommend that you dress casually as you would for a school day or school event.
    e)    Tell us about yourself using these guidelines: Your video should begin with "Hi, my name is (insert name) from (high school) and I am in (insert grade)." After that, answer these two questions, forming your responses clearly and thoughtfully.
    1. What experiences have you had, and what attributes do you have, that will make you a successful Brophy Bronco?
    2. How would your teachers describe you as a student and individual in their classroom and on campus?
    f) You will upload the video file directly to the checklist in myBrophy by clicking on the UPLOAD button. The maximum file size for upload is 100MB. Please be patient — it can take up to several minutes for a large video file to upload to the portal. Make sure you click "save" after it uploads.  If your file is larger than 100MB, you must share it with us in an email using a link to Google Drive, iCloud or Dropbox. Your video will only be viewed by the Admissions Committee.
  6. Have a virtual personal interview with the Admissions Office. We typically do these in late April and early May. Please call our office to set up an appointment. Interviews last approximately 20 minutes and will be done via Zoom.
The due date for for application materials is May 3, 2023.
