Textbooks and Resources

Below is a link containing the list of books and resources Brophy teachers will be using for the 2011-2012 school year. Many courses have converted to digital resources, and thus there’s nothing for students to purchase; teachers will facilitate their acquisition of them once class begins. Other courses still use paper books and/or workbooks for the class. In most of those cases, students are responsible for acquiring them on their own; ISBN #s—which individualize each book—are on the list, and parents or students are welcome to find the book however they choose. There is a web link at which each book can be purchased, but there is no expectation for the parent or student to use it. As long as the student has the exact edition of the book, it doesn’t matter where he gets it. Finally, there are a few courses where Brophy will facilitate book purchases at our own book buy; we do this for new or more difficult to acquire books. In sum, the expectation on students and parents should be clear for each course on the list. But should you have questions, feel free to email Seamus Walsh at swalsh@brophyprep.org with them. Our recommendation is for students and parents to acquire the books for courses they know they’ll be taking, as early as possible. As usual, teachers using shorter novels and such will alert students in class of those expectations.
