Summer School - General Information

Credit Courses:
Brophy College Preparatory offers a summer session for girls and boys entering the ninth through twelfth grades in the fall. The summer curriculum is designed for high school students to gain needed credit for graduation requirements and/or to free up room in their academic-year schedule to allow students to participate in 7th-period athletic and activity-based classes, have a study hall or be able to take multiple AP courses. Grades (A-F) will be given (earned) for these courses and posted on the student’s high school transcript.

Enrichment Courses:
Brophy College Preparatory offers an academic Summer Session for girls and boys entering the sixth-through-eighth grades and an athletic session for boys and girls entering the third-through-eighth grades. The summer curriculum is designed to reinforce success and to challenge those students who already have a good grasp of fundamentals. Most classes are individualized to meet the diverse needs of the diverse needs of students from different backgrounds. The summer program is designed to combine serious academic study with a relaxed social atmosphere.

Late Registration. Students registering between these dates will be charged a $50 late fee.
Book Buy for summer enrichment classes 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

BOOKS:
Students enrolled in credit classes will purchase their books during the first day of classes. However, students are encouraged to purchase their books from other students.

Textbooks for enrichment courses will be sold on May 29-30, 9:30 – 12:30 p.m.
in the Student Activity Center. Books are not included in tuition.

Period 1: 8:15 a.m. – 9:15 a.m.
Period 2: 9:25 a.m. – 10:25 a.m.
Period 3: 10:35 a.m. – 11:35 a.m.
Period 4: 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.
Period 5: 1:15 p.m. – 2:15 p.m.

ENROLLMENT:
Classes have limited enrollment. Students cannot be officially en-rolled until tuition fees are paid in full. Brophy reserves the right to cancel classes with fewer than twelve applicants. Every effort will be made to accommodate your choice with respect to classes preferred for your son/daughter. This is not always possible.

REGISTRATION:
Students registering for credit courses are encouraged to do so by Thursday, March 20. Students registering after March 20th will be charged a $50 late fee. Brophy is planning to run the fall schedules at the beginning of April so it is important that students and parents discuss and finalize their summer plans with their Brophy counselor before the March 20th deadline.

REFUNDS:
As budgeting commitments must be made prior to the opening of the Summer session, tuition will NOT be refunded for applications withdrawn after May 30. Tuition for all courses includes a $50 Non-refundable deposit for any cancellations made after submission. All withdraws or changes must be submitted in writing. (email is acceptable)

SCHEDULE CHANGES:
Class changes (including adding classes) may be made after submission of initial registration for a $25.00 fee per class and availability in the class.

ATTENDANCE :
Due to Brophy’s academic standards, students absent three times for full or half credit courses or tardy five times are liable to lose academic credit for the Summer Session and are subject to dismissal. If your son/daughter is absent, please call or e-mail the Summer School Office at extension 6444 on the morning of the absence.

CAMPUS HOURS:
The Brophy campus opens at 6:00 a.m. and closes at 3:00 p.m. (unless you are taking the afternoon Video course). The Brophy library is not open during the summer.

SNACKS AND LUNCH:
The Brophy Harper Great Hall will be open at 7:30 a.m. and close at 2:30 p.m. Michael’s Catering will be selling breakfast, lunch and snack items throughout the summer session. For liability reasons, students are not allowed off campus during or between classes.

BROPHY DOES NOT PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION BETWEEN THE MAIN CAMPUS AND THE EAST CAMPUS.
