Summer Reading

Summer reading assignments are up-to-date. Three academic departments (English, Social  Studies, and Religious Studies) participate in the summer reading program, and students are required to read for each department. * Students are expected to read the novel assigned to their appropriate grade.  In addition to the reading, students are required to respond in short-answer format to a set of study questions specific to that book; those responses should be typed, and will be collected for credit. Teachers will integrate the summer reading and responses to study questions into the beginning of the course, so students should bring their book and responses to class when they begin in August.  Furthermore, students should expect some form of assessment on the book—test or essay—during the first week of class.
