PLAN AHEAD FOR NEXT YEAR'S SCHEDULE
Brophy will be conducting scheduling electronically this year. As
such we encourage all students to submit forms to Blackboard as discussed below. In
doing this, Brophy is assuming that students have discussed schedules with
their parents and that parents have approved the submitted schedule form. This
responsibility lies with you and your son. All hard
copy submissions that are turned in by students must have all signatures.
Please go over the scheduling form with your son and help him select the appropriate
classes. By preparing the form with your son as soon as possible, it will allow
your son's counselor to be efficient with the scheduling process. This will
also help you plan his summer school classes if any. Remember to turn in summer
school registration as soon as possible as classes fill very quickly. Even
if your son is not scheduled to formally meet with his counselor until late
March or April, he should turn in his summer school registration before this
to ensure getting into a class.
It is vital to this process that you consult the graduation requirements listed
in the Course Book and on the PowerPoint for your son's specific grade. Please
note that this process does not involve the selection of teachers. This is
done randomly and BROPHY DOES NOT ALLOW STUDENTS OR PARENTS TO SELECT
SPECIFIC TEACHERS. We strongly feel that our staff is the highest
quality and conflicts of personality should be resolved through dialogue between
the teacher, student, parent and counselor.
Please download the forms (in Microsoft Word format) and Course Descriptions
Book found below, and view the information on the new schedule and curriculum
for next year. Each form has specific instructions found at the top of the
page, please be sure to follow them to avoid problems.
Please open the scheduling form and complete it electronically. When saving
the file, please choose "Save As" from the File menu and save it with your
name and graduation year (i.e. JohnSmith2008.doc). This will make identifying
and sorting forms much easier for your counselor. Once completed and saved,
please email the form as an attachment to your counselor, using the following subject for your message: "Scheduling - Your Name-Year" (i.e. Scheduling - John Smith 08). You will find a list of the counselor email addresses on the Counseling web page. Once your form is received by
your counselor, he/she will set up a meeting with you to discuss any questions
you might have and to complete the process.
