History of Brophy
|
All of our course offerings, whether advanced placement, honors, or regular
classes, are college preparatory in nature.
Relying on the liberal arts, with theology given a special place, the faculty
teaches analysis, active listening and critical thinking both inside and outside
the classroom. Brophy teaches students not only the substance of the course
work but also how to be
effective lifelong learners. The goal of the school is to transform its community
into “persons for and with others.” This hallmark of Jesuit schools,
first articulated by Father Pedro Arrupe, S.J., the former Jesuit Superior
General, in a speech in 1974, has
become the living motto of Brophy students and alumni.
