- Applications -- Available online for Fall 2008 admission in October, 2008.
- Open House -- Sunday, November 2, 2008.
- Entrance Exam -- January 10 & 24, 2009.
- Interviews -- Scheduled throughout the month of January, 2009.
On Sunday, November 2, 2008, from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM, Brophy
holds an Open House for anyone interested in learning more about the
school and the admissions process. Brophy students offer guided
tours of the campus and facilities. There are opportunities to
meet and ask questions of current Brophy students, teachers, coaches
and administrators. The last tour will be scheduled for 3:00 PM.
- The entrance examination may be taken on either Saturday, January 10, 2009, or Saturday, January 24, 2009, from 8:00 AM. until noon.
- The applicant should arrive at Brophy by 7:30 AM. for registration in Brophy Hall.
- The Application for Admission and fee are due three days prior to the chosen test date.
- We will provide all materials for the test, as well as midmorning snacks and drinks. No calculators, drinks, or food may be brought to the test site.
- Although the applicant may take the entrance exam on either scheduled date, we recommend that he plan to come on the first Saturday (January 10), to ensure a make-up opportunity in the event of an emergency or illness.
- There is no need to notify us which Saturday the applicant will take the exam; receipt of the $50 fee automatically qualifies the applicant to take the exam on either date.
- There will be no further notification as to exam dates and times, nor is it necessary to call and confirm.
- Although we accept results from entrance exams taken at other Catholic high schools, those results do not always arrive at Brophy in time for consideration by the Admissions Committee.
- Applicants who do not take the Entrance Exam at Brophy are expected to complete the writing sample of Brophy’s test on the same day they are interviewed. Please expect to stay another 25 minutes after your interview to complete this portion of the test.
To take full advantage of your interview, an important part of the application process, please plan to arrive at least 5 - 10 minutes prior to your appointed time to check in at the Admissions Office and be escorted to an interview room. Parents are invited to wait in the Student Activities Center located in Keating Hall.
Applicants should dress comfortably for their interviews. No special dress code requirement.

The Shadow Program is designed to provide interested 8th grade students an opportunity to visit the Brophy campus for a routine day, attend classes and meet teachers. Shadowing is not mandatory as part of the application process; but it is a great opportunity to spend some time on our campus in the company of a Brophy student. If you are interested in scheduling a shadow day, please review the following information.
Beginning Monday, September 8, shadow days will be scheduled online using the request form. No phone calls please. Visits will take place on selected Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays only. See calendar below for available dates. We permit a limited number of shadows each day and some days are closed due to school conflicts. Requests will be filled in the order in which they are received and you should receive a response to your request within 2 – 3 days. If you do not know a Brophy boy in the freshman class to request as a host, we will assign one from our Diplomatic Corps.
When contacting us, your first choice may be filled. Please be prepared to enter a 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice.

There are some "myths" about Brophy admissions we can
clarify:
- Applications for Brophy range from 500-700
- Brophy entrance exam scores can be shared with other schools and
will be done so in a timely manner with no penalty to the student
- Brophy accepts entrance exam scores taken at other schools however;
any applicant who does not take the entrance exam at Brophy is
expected to complete the writing sample of the Brophy test on the same day as his interview. There is no penalty to the
applicant.
Brophy's success at strengthening its Jesuit identity is profiled in the spring 2005 issue of Mission magazine, published by the California Province of the Society of Jesus. Read the article.
